Community Sensitization
The Community Sensitization Program addresses the root of the problem TWWP was founded to solve: deeply held beliefs and traditions that place girls at risk. Rather than working with girls and women alone, the program reaches entire communities carried out through door-to-door campaigns, public barazas, and direct engagement with peer youth, women, and men.
Voices of Change
The message is carried by a wide network of trusted community voices: trained mentors, reformed circumcisers, teachers, government agencies, and faith leaders. Their involvement has helped shift long-standing positions elders who once defended the practice of cutting now defend education, and mothers who once prepared daughters for early marriage now prepare them for school.
