Adult Information Centres
TWWP’s Adult Information Centres reflect the belief that literacy and empowerment can happen at any stage of life. Through 26 centres across Tharaka Constituency, the program has equipped over 1,500 women with foundational reading and writing skills many for the first time in their lives. Mothers who missed out on schooling due to early marriage or cultural practices now have the chance to learn.
Beyond the Classroom
Learners at AICs aren’t just students they’re community ambassadors. They play a key role in recruiting girls into the Alternative Rite of Passage (ARP) program each December, helping protect vulnerable girls from FGM/C and early marriage while championing education as a path forward.
